I am honored to have the opportunity to submit for consideration for nomination for the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia Folk Song Society. I am a long time attendee and a volunteer for the Philadelphia Folk Festival and look forward to the potential opportunity to bring my wealth of knowledge and experience to the board to continue to grow the Philadelphia Folk Song Society within the Philadelphia, Greater Philadelphia and beyond. I am currently a full time external marketing representative for the Round Guys Brewing Company brand as well as their direct event and operations manager for their music and events venue The Underground. As such, over the past year, I’ve led the team at The Underground to grow the venue into a notable hub for original music within the tri-state area. As an external marketing rep, I’ve led the company into new collaborations and partnerships that continue to propel the venue forward with dignity and transparency.
I have a strong interest in transparent, community based organic brand growth. Local collaborations are important and I will bring a strong, dignified and honest approach to continued growth in and around the Philadelphia area. Particularity involving a local marketing and support approach to the main fundraiser, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, I strongly believe area support and marketing collaborations from the immediate jurisdictions surrounding the festival venue are paramount. In turn, this will enable the Society to ensure that the music co-op program maximizes is potential and reach. In addition, a main focus of mine will be exploring opportunities on how volunteer retention is managed and maintained. I firmly believe in open and transparent communication between the Board of Directors, Festival Staff, Society members and volunteers.
In my spare time, I work closely with my wife and four children on putting together PA BLAST Con, a family oriented comic convention located in Quakertown, PA. We also like to visit Washington, DC and tour our nation’s parks and national monuments.
I take the opportunity to run for the Philadelphia Folk Song Society Board of Directors very seriously, and if elected, I will strive to maintain transparent communication, organic growth and meaningful collaboration of the Society with surrounding partners and members a key point of my election period.
