New Ogee Times column: Dear Crabby

Dear Crabby,

I am a venue manager at a local brewery. In the course of my profession I meet a lot of people, some of them I contract one or two times, others I contact on a more personal friendly level. There is one particular person, I will call him “J” that has a habit of making fun of me on social media. I’ve known him for about two years and I think we would consider each other “friends” I’ve booked his acoustic duo, and just him several times to play at my venue. I’ve supported them quite a bit, and in return, he has supported myself and the venue that I manage as well. The thing that bothers me is this... I had written an article about an upcoming event that “Jason” was schedules to play, and sent it to him. He didn’t say anything about it, other than pointing out a spelling mistake. This is not the first time it’s happened. He will also make posts on Facebook about how how I can’t spell. I would like to bring up the fact that this bothers me, but I don’t know how. Any Advice?

Dear bad at spelling,

Look. You seem like a nice guy. Managing a venue isn’t always easy work, and I applaud you for your dedication... also enclosed is my bands demo cd. I heard Hoobastank... or maybe Korn... or Fuel was playing at your venue and we want to open (seriously, HMU). But look, I barely passed 10th grade english and after reading your letter, you remind me of this guy I know named Ryan Weiss. GET A FUCKING EDITOR.

Do you need some advice? If so, email Dear Crabby at DearCrabby@ogeetimes.com
